 Tuesday, April 1, 2021 I WILL BE CONTESTING FOR SPEAKER AT THE CHILDREN'S FORUM ELECTION IN JUNE   I hereby declare that I am a candidate for Speaker of the Liberia National Children Representative Forum formerly known as the Liberian Children's Parliament, in the 2021 General Election ballot to be held in June during the official celebration of the Day of the African Child. My declaration comes in a wave of no brag about eloquence or competency, but to make continuance of the Liberian Children's dream for a better place, made safe to grow toward their full potential and their voices are not heard but manifested into actions. With the uttermost goal to serve as chief campaigner of the Liberian Children Law which seek to the survival, development, protection and participation of all Children in the confound of the Liberian state, I ultimately believe that electing someone who knows the issues we are all facing as Children ranging from living all tender ages in Orphanage car...

Liberia National Children Forum celebrates World Orphans Day with Calls for Greater Support The Liberian National Children’s Representative Forum has concluded its commemoration of World Orphans Day in Liberia, using the occasion to raise awareness on the rights and welfare of orphans across the country. Speaking at the event, the Speaker of the Liberian National Children’s Representative Forum, Hon. Jutomue Doetein, shared a historical perspective, noting that the first people to officially care for orphans were the Romans, who established the world’s first orphanage around 400 AD. Addressing the press, Hon. Doetein expressed concern that orphans in Liberia have not been given the attention they deserve. He emphasized that children must be treated equally in society, as stipulated by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and the Children’s Law of Liberia.   Standing Up for Justice in Liberia As Liberia’s National Orphans Representative, I joined the Children’s Forum, women’s rights institutions, and other child advocacy groups in a peaceful protest calling for a non-bailable rape law and standing firmly against any amendment that would weaken it. With the alarming prevalence of rape and other forms of violence against women, girls, and children in Liberia, we make our position clear — we do not support the amendment of the rape law. We recommend: * Fixing the justice system. * Ensuring speedy trials. * Providing full protection for victims. * Establishing and making productive a fast-track court to adjudicate SGBV matters. For me, this is more than a protest — it’s a call to protect lives, uphold dignity, and secure justice for Liberia’s most vulnerable.

 As National Orphans' Representative of the Liberia National Children Representative Forum, I was provided the opportunity to attend a One Day Entrepreneurship Workshop hosted by YONER Liberia in collaboration with the  Liberia National Children Representative Forum.  The Workshop focuses on how young people and children can foster themselves using the technologies available and entrepreneurship.  The presenter, Jarius Andrew Greaves, CEO, stressed the meaning of Entrepreneurship, its importance, and how we can join it with technology to avail for ourselves the just benefits.  My appreciation to Speaker Jutomue Doetein for this initiative.
